We are finally ready to build our two girls a c&c cage. I was just looking for some advice whether to use the connectors that came with the safco grids or just use cable ties. The cage will be 4x2 grids with a further 2x2 that will make a 'L' shape. I have enough grids so will have a base. I wanted to get it made up before I order the correx. I'm thinking the cable ties is the best way to go but what do you think? Thanks in advance

Connectors are better if you are considering going two story or odd shapes. Cable tied cages are fine with a straightforward cage with a correx inset.

I use both for my cage. I have a two story so it just makes the cage more sturdy to use both. If I had to use one or the other then definitely connectors.

i use both. the cage part is connectors and the run part is cable ties. the connectors make things alot more sturdy though i find :)

Connectors good for more than one level, but I found them very fiddly, therefore, I chose cable ties. Mind you, if you use connectors, you still need cable ties.

I use both as well but might be making another cage.. still not decided, I may just use cable ties. It depends if I do a two tier, if it's two I'll use connectors and ties.

:DI am finding that the cage is much more sturdy with connectors, as biscandmatt has said. With cable ties, the grids can sag a bit.

Thank you for all your replies. I will give the connectors a go and use the cable ties if needed. I'll let you know how i get on
