Connectors for grids!

Ok so i have cubes which i've had for ages. But when i make my cage i always put connectors n the top and bottom. Do i need to ? Because it only makes a 2x3 cage. I have 26 grids and 24 connectors.

i have only put them on the top, but i want to add more security at the bottom as I'm a little wary of it, so i would feel safer with both top and bottom personally

I have put connectors on the bottom and used cable ties for the top.
