A week ago I got a new guinea piggy as a companion for my lonely Nibbles :(
We couldn't find a suitable rescue piggy so we ended up at Pets at Home. That's where we found Nutty. He's adorable and gets along really well with Nibbles. But I know you shouldn't handle them for the first day so when I was feeding them and he climbed into my dressing gown sleeve I was quite surprised. He gets really upset if you walk past the cage without talking to him and demands to come out by squeaking at the top of his lungs. He was the smallest in the pen we chose from and although Pets at Home say he's six weeks I think he may be younger. I think he thinks I'm his mother. He's really clingy and won't let anyone but me hold him. Is this normal and how can I deal with this because I can't hold him all the time? Everytime I put him back in the cage I feel soo guilty. I'm confused :{

Thanks

First: Be glad and enjoy it that you don't have a shy one on your hands!

If you can, talk to him when you pass, but make sure that you will take him out only ever so often by building it into a ritual (always using the same phrase) with a little treat when he's back in the cage.

arrrr, sounds like your gunna have a cheeky little monkey on your hands as he gets older!haha. when my piggies squeek madly and I'm busy, i go about around them and sing so they can still hear my voice, they get even louder though for some reason(maybe there telling me to shut up!) but maybe once he starts to become familiar with the other people in your household, and used to there voices he might settle down. but that routine suggestion sound the best idea to me!gemx
