Bear and Lottie are currently living outside but I'm thinking of bringing them inside because they look miserable all the time at the moment.

But I'm confused about the fact that Temperature Changes are dangerous to Guinea Pigs,
I've had a noisy about on the forum and have been people saying it's ok to bring them inside, but I though sudden changes in Temperature can be dangerous?
So what is ok to do?

Should I just bring them inside whenever or should I wait till a certain time of day or?

And if it is ok to bring them inside whenever
Then what temperature change are dangerous?

You could turn your heating down and gradually turn it up when they are inside.

A safe temperature for guinea pigs is somewhere around 17-21 degrees Celsius.

Mine don't really seem to react to temperature changes but every guinea pig is different
If it is too hot they could get heatstroke.
If they are too cold in their hutch try adding extra hay and thick blankets

On a day like today, it is chilly and damp here, then the temperature change wouldn't be too different.

However, in Winter when the temperature could be around 2 degrees or so outside, we would have the heating on inside so the temperature change would be huge.

When the temperature was in the late 20's a few weeks ago, it was definately much cooler indoors than out!

I just didn't want to bring them inside and make them poorly! :)

I don't think they are miserable because they're Cold, I think Bears feeling the loss of his other two lady recently so being inside near the other girls might help him a bit :)

If Bears is neutered and he gets on well with the other girls maybe let him play with them in floor time

I want to bond him and lottie with the girls but I need to wait for Anya's Abscess to be sorted out at the vets first
I don't want her to get hurt in the meantime :/

This time of year the temperature change between inside and outside shouldn't be too dramatic for piggies. Lots of people put their indoor piggies outside in runs during the day as long as it's not very hot. My boars have been really fed up the last few weeks because it's been to wet for them to have run time. It's sudden huge changes in temperature you need to worry about.

Okay that makes sense
I guess I just need to decide if I should bring the girls outside to live with Bear and Lottie till winter
Or if i bring Them inside :/ :/

I love having my piggies indoors, they are in my lliving room and I talk to them as I come and go all day. We have lots of interaction and cudddles in the evening. We gave up TV as we spent all our time watching the piggies who are far more entertaining. The TV license money now goes in the vet fund. :))
