Hello,
I was holding my guinea pig and his taco tunnel about 4 feet up, my son was trying to pet him, and he backed out so quick and fell and landed on his side on the top corner of the cage.
This just happened about 10 minutes ago keeping an ion him I don’t see nothing yet but I’m terrified and crying. We just lost his brother the day after we got him due to an underlying condition so I’m super scared to lose another. What do I need to look out for? I’m scared it’s gonna be something inside is goingto be hurt or Damaged
Thank you
Stephanie R

I’m sorry to hear this.

A piggy needs to be seen by a vet following any fall. Internal injuries can occur and do need to be ruled out.

It would be a good idea to switch from the routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh him daily so you can more closely monitor hay intake, and step in with syringe feeding if needed.

I hope he is ok

Emergency and Crisis Care as well as Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment

I’m so sorry your piggy has had an accident. Good luck at the vets. I hope he’s ok. 🤞🏻

Sorry to hear about this. I always use tunnels, and never handle them when they are struggling but I understand children don't really know this. I would take him to the vet to make sure GP is ok.

Tunnel to transport my boys.
