Prince Harry is his normal self and eating like a horse on steroids but, strangely he's lost a little weight, today when I was stroking his face I noticed that he had a small lump next to his jaw, I have checked it and its clean and dry and doesn't appear to be in any pain but, I am rather concerned about it.

I plan to get him book into the vets on Monday.

What does this sound like? I am rather concerned that it may be an absess,

:{:{

Thanks

Oh no hope he will be ok. Not sure what it could be, keep us posted though. Good luck! :)

can you tell us more about the feel of the lump? does it feel soft and "squishy", or hard and knobbly?

If you part the hair near the lump, what does the skin look like, any redness?

Monday is a bank holiday but its unlikely to do anything in the meantime. Abcess or cyst seems most likely, try not to worry!

Big hugs andkeep us posted:)

Thanks, rats I forgot that why does my poor piggy have to develop problems on a bank holiday weekend?

When I looked at it its hard and normal colour so by that I am going with a cyst.

Lump seems a bit bigger but he's still eating for the county definately a "vet job" will ring on Tues

It doesn't seem to be in pain but is there any chance he might be? If he is I will take him to the emergency vets tomorrow. My poor wee lad, sorry if I am overreacting:{

I think you would know if he was in pain. If he is eating and drinking normally then I wouldn't think he was in pain.

hugs to prince harry

hope it all goes well at the vets let me know how it goes

hope he is ok hes so so sweet 8:)

Yep he certainly is a lovely piggy (as most are!xx>>>)

I rang the vets and they can't fit him in till tomorrow so I took the first appointment available.

Will let you know how we get on.

sending him and you lots of loves, hugs, wheeeeeeeeeeeeks and healing ones too x>>x>>x>>x>>

Hey Wanda, any news on how Prince Harry is? sending lots of love and hope it is a harmless something! xx

Hello,

Been to vets and no further forward really, basically keep an eye on it and if it gets worse bring him back. It could be an abcess or a cyst she doesn't know which but, understandabley she doesn't want to operate on him to remove it at the moment as it appears to be be causing him no real probs.

I think poor Sparky, his cage mate wondered what was going on this morning when Harry disapeared off the face of the earth. x)x)

all the bst to prince harry! I'm sure he is getting lots of cuddles! keep us updated on his progress

x

Awww best just to keep an eye on him then...he probably enjoyed his trip out :)) glad all is ok though!

Hopefully it wont effect his quality of life and he'll carry on as normal xx

Glad is went ok at the vets and he is home now.

In my experience, an abscess under the jaw usually causes the piggy pain if you touch it, sometimes it is hot and can feel squishy. A cyst is usually harder and might not cause pain.

Abscesses have a tendency to eventually burst ... nature's way, I guess ... and then heal over. But if that happens, get the wound checked as my Stuart had abscesses on his back from his brother biting him (both now separated and neutered! rolleyes) and the skin healed over one far too quickly while on antibiotics, then it burst again.

Hope all carries on well.
