Today I was hand feeding some veggies too my pigs and I noticed one of my boys was poking his head through the squares, quite far!

Is it possible for them too squeeze through completely?

Has anyone's pigs ever done that?

I'm just a bit worried with how far his head fits through!

Are they babies? I remember reading if you had youngsters you have to raise the corex up the sides a certain height to prevent them putting their heads through.

They are 6 months old roughly.

They look fairly big, like they wouldn't be able too fit, but that would be the hair.

I currently don't have correx, I've been using blankets and water absorbent blankets.

Would you suggest placing them back into their other cage, until I get correx?

I am not sure. It doesn't have to be corex just something to go round the sides to stop them putting their heads through the holes.

Usually only when they are babies, we took in Little Rose at 3 weeks old and she got through the grids into Terk and Ellie's cage and confused the hell out of them. How big are the squares?

C&C grids come in two different wire widths. If you have got the larger holes, then they can be dangerous to older piggies, not just babies. The recommended width of the square holes is about 38mm between wires (i.e. 9 squares in a row per grid).

Please weigh your boys once weekly during their lifetime; it is an important tool for detecting developing health problems early; any weight loss over 50g should be seen by a vet, if it is 100g in a short time, then they need to be seen as an emergency.
