Cuddles With Cavies
Junior Guinea Pig
Rosie has developed a really bad habbit over the course of maybe a month for chewing the correx at the front of the cage when she wants food, attention or floor time.
She doesn't ingest the correx, she just bites it off and then spits it onto the floor.
It's getting to the point now though where the correx is so low in places that bedding is falling out of the cage.
I've tried everything to stop her chewing, blocking off the front of the cage with items, lining the top of the correx with chew toys and cardboard, but nothing has worked. I'm going to have to get a new base of correx soon because there's more bedding on my carpet than in the cage these days.
I was trying to think of some ways to prevent her chewing when my step dad came up with the idea of lining the top of the correx with some plastic, PVC edge trim you can get from DIY shops.
Do you think this is safe to use as Rosie is such a prolific chewer? And if it is safe, do you think it would work?
