cold weather

we have our pigs and buns in our barn outside, and we were wondering as long as they get plenty of straw and nice cozy places, if they might be able to stay outside all winter long. their fur is really puffy and long lol so if anyone has any idea that would be helpful!

Hmmm, not sure. I think you guys get very cold weather in ontario compared to the uk.

I presume you meant hay and not straw.

I don't know the answer, but we work on the basis if it's cold for you, then it is for them, but in a barn with maybe straw bales surrounding their run, hutch hugger and heat pads might be ok.

I'd be worried though myself but I guess I'm used to indoor piggies.

What's your temperature?

Rabbits are much better at coping with cold temperatures. Guinea pigs aren't even with insulation straw. I would suggest bringing the guinea pigs inside.
