hi everyone
I'm just wondering I've just brought a shed for my guinea pig hutches to go in for the winter months as they no longer can come inside, I plan on getting heat mats to go inside but currently money is running a little low after just loosing one of my guinea pigs last week :( and anyway when is it too Cold not to have a heat mat in there? As would prefer to get it at the end of the month but don't no if it's too cold now to not, there inside at the moment and going into the shed as of tomorrow! plenty of snuggle things in there hatches but they do live separately so can't snuggle together :( advice?

My boys are outside in a shed - we used old fence panels and nailed them inside so that the shed was double skinned - hence cutting out any drafts,
, last winter they were fine, if there was a severe frost we covered their hutches with blankets for extra warmth.

Ok
Thank you, my shed isn't big enough to do what you have done although it is a great idea, they also live serperatly as my guinea pig Darwin died who was paired up with one of them. For now I think I'll just put lots of fleece and blankets in there and get the heat pads at the end of the month :)

tey should be fine with lots of hay to burrow in-I used to cut out a hole in a cardboard box, turn it upside down, put it on top of and old fleece blanket then stuff it with hay. the boys all snuggled up in it so happily that it took some persuading for them to come out, seeing as they could snack and snuggle at the same time!
