Hi all, my 2 girls are outside in their hutch they have towels and fleece and a snuggle cosy, Ive also bought a heat pad but how cold does it have to be to use this? When should we move them to the garage/ greebhouse, and when should I bring them inside? If anyone knows what temp they should be that would help? Oh and they have a full cage cover too.

Hi there, my boys are outside piggies too, they moved outside 2 weeks ago and have just been moved back inside again ! The torrential rain and blustery winds are no fun for anyone... back into the garage they go....

I also have heat pads but aren't using them at this time of year, I reserve them for when the temp gets below 10 degress

hope it helps x

Hi,

I was wondering the same. I have just put my 4 back outside as it seemed to be getting warmer, but now i'm worrying as it feels really cold out there due to this windy weather.

I think if your hutch is well covered to keep out wind and rain they should be ok. Saying that, I have put the heat pad in my hutch tonight, but it's under a big heap of hay and they have plenty of other sleeping areas if they don't want to use it. I have also covered the wire sections of the hutch with towels and put an old sleeping bag covered in tarpaulin over the top. Proboably a bit too excessive, but i can't bear the thought of my little babies being cold.

Not sure what anyone else thinks?

Helen x

Same here, I just worry all the time they are cold, but they do feel toasty when I pick them up! I'm just not sure what temp they should be, and worry if I bring them in I won't be able tp put them out again?
