Just making sure if it's normal?

As you know, Rocky is still not normal (far from it) because of jaw abscess. We stopped giving him his antibiotics the other day because he became a bit bunged up, not much poop, but fortunately not really bloated. We are giving him Emeprid as well to keep his guts moving. We'll try to reintroduced him to his antibiotics one at a time again (not sure which one hubby will start again first, Metronidazole or Marbocyl).

Anyway, he started having cloudy yellowish pee yesterday and I'm not sure of it's normal or because of meds. He hasn't eaten since Wednesday and is fully on syringe food of CC, mashed up pellets, porridge oats and blended carrots. Before Wednesday, he was eating loads of rockets, spinach and parsley, and it's all he tolerates really so we give him what he wants to eat. Sometimes melon, apple slices and kiwi. All are not in big portions though and just tiny strips. He started eating the melon tonight again and even had 5 strips of grass.

We also managed to remove some abscess when flushing it today. Simon has given as pointers yesterday on how we can really clean the wound to flush the abscess since it's very difficult because it's so deep in the jaw and not just in the skin. He said this type of abscess is really difficult to treat because of it's location.

That colouration would rather point towards a reaction of his meds. ;)

Make sure that you offer him as much water in between feeds as he is willing to take.

I feel for you and Rocky. I really struggled when Hywel had his own deep jaw abscess saga and his hole insisted on healing shut so quickly every time. :(

Fingers firmly crossed for him!

Thanks @Wiebke! We are travelling to Northampton every 5 days at the moment because we really can't get to where we can flush the abscess. So Simon/Kim wanted to do it themselves. Simon did tell us on Saturday that it would really be difficult to clean it especially we can't see where it's coming from. He said if the abscess were in the skin, then it's easier. But in Rocky's case, it's coming from the jaw. So all the swelling in the jaw and in the surrounding area is also not helping. But he said the swelling is going down. Also he had to do dental work again because Rocky is not eating and teeth are growing faster because of it. He also opened the wound a bit again so it's easier to clean. He said to keep on massaging his cheek as well to encourage the abscess to drain through the hole. It worked coz the abscess now leaks through the wound.

It's a good thing hubby is willing to drive to C&R because he loves the piggies! His only complain is that the holiday money we were supposed to spend all are going to the piggies again. 😂 But honestly, it can get tiring and expensive. All things we do for the piggies.🤷‍♀️

He's eating by himself tonight! :yahoo: Not sure what he'll do tomorrow, but we are taking each day as it comes. 😁

Oh sorry the photos are a bit blurry because I just zoomed in so I won't disturb him. 😁
