Hi

My guinea pigs eye is cloudy. I assume that it was a hay poke but there’s no hay to be seen. He is showing no discomfort and no change in character - he is absolutely fine. What shall I do?

Please see a vet. The fact it is cloudy means it is ulcerating. Eyes are considered urgent.
He will need to be checked using fluorescent dye and likely prescribed painkillers and eye drops

You may not be able to see any hay but it needs to be checked to ensure there isn’t any stuck where you cannot see.
One of my boys once had a 1cm grass seed wedged under his eye lid which was not visible - only the vet could find it.

I have an spare appointment on Saturday which was for my other guinea pig who has been pushed for more urgent care

Unfortunately I can’t as tomorrow my guinea pig is going in so the vet can try and move his kidney stone away from the urethra and operate if possible to remove. I can’t take the other guinea pig as the bladder stone is the emergency. I will get him to a vet ASAP
