Help! I just got my guinea pig out of her cage and I see that her left eye is cloudy and blue. I put a hay rack in there and I think may have gotten poked in the eye with timothy hay. What do I do? Do I take her to a vet?

Yes please do take your piggy to a vet. Eye injuries are considered urgent and the quicker they are dealt with the better the prognosis.

My Minnie had an eye that went cloudy, and the vet found a 1cm long piece of hay stuck under the eyelid! We were prescribed eye drops to stop it getting infected. Hopefully it isn't anything worse 🤞

Hi, sorry for the late response. She's doing so much better now. We called the vet, but they had no appointments available but were able to squeeze her in between clients. They told me to wash her eye out with saline drops every 12 hours along with prescription eye drops. It's completely gone now, and she's back to her silly, goofy self!
