Who here clips their long haired piggies instead of using scissors and what brand/model of clipper do you use? I'm looking into getting some for my sheltie who has a phobia of scissors but I'm not sure which ones are best for little pigs...

Wow that piggy is an absolute stunner. Sorry I don't know about clippers but I'm waiting to see any replies as I want to get some for Willow.

Wow, what a beauty! I have some Wahl clippers for my long haired boar - he hates scissors! These are quite noisy, but he wasn't bothered by that. We did well with them initially until he saw what I was doing then he started prancing and jumping around, but I will persevere with them! These are battery operated, I think mains powered ones may be better long term, but they were Ok for a first try..
Let us know how you get on!

I give Betsy my Sheltie a clip using my Just 4 Pets Pro Style Pet Clippers. They are mains operated and aren't too noisy. She stood still for most of her grade 4 summer style! I did bribe her with a pot of parsley though. Here are the before and after shots

She's been a lot happier since her hair cut!

You must be a true connoisseur to choose such a beautiful guinea pig GC.

I have bought some clippers but have yet to try them. Scissors are doing ok for now. Will be interested to hear some suggestions though.

What a beauty, such gorgeous colouring.

As soon as I saw her I thought "She's mine" went home got everything sorted and went back for her and her friend Velvet.

@Betsy you can come and do Gibson's!

If you lived nearer I would but you would have to provide the parsley bribe!

I wouldn't say I was a true connoisseur @flowerfairy but she is gorgeous! Except when she's on heat and she is definitely not then!

I use electric clippers for Perran (Sheltie). I use men's beard trimmers which are battery powered (although they do also have mains function). Perran was also pretty phobic of scissors, but she has basically no reaction at all to the trimmer noise - although it's louder, it's a deeper noise and continuous.

Hi all, I need to trim my boar's bottom as he has especially long hair there. He does have a gorgeous bottom and his little skirt looks cute but it's not very practical right now. Perhaps it'll be more useful in the winter - he won't get a draft, that's for sure!

At the minute I use scissors every second day on him! He's got hair that is super fast growing!
He doesn't mind being trimmed with scissors everywhere expect down there! Thing is, I'm nervous about using clippers near his man parts!

Any advice? :) This pic is before a trim, two days after his last one.
