Hi!

I am blessed to have moved to a property with stables. I have 2 groups of guinea pigs and my plan is to divide the stable into two so my 2 groups have loads of space to live in, they will be able to have heat lamps and lots of toys etc. What I need to know is how high does the divide need to be to stop my boys getting to my girls?! It will of course be gig safe and non chewable.

Thanks

I would make it so it is 2 ft so you then also have the height for putting in hideys that they can climb on. You also need to make sure it is a solid divide not mesh so they can't smell the girls as it may cause tem to fight and fall out.
Will you be putting in a hutch too so they have somewhere warm to be on a night in winter ?

You will also need to make a mesh top door to keep out predators such as cats and fox's.

I'm sure your guineas are going to love their new space :)

Hiya,
Lucky you, stables!
:agr: With what has been said above.
Snugglesafe heat pads are good for keeping them warm. Bubble wrap over mesh keeps draughts out. Poundland heat blanket reflects the piggies heat making the warmer.

My gigs have always been outdoor gigs, they will have their hutches within their halves so they have somewhere familiar to bunk down and I use snuggle safe microwave pads they will have too. The advantage is they can also have a heat lamp to snuggle under too so they have plenty of warmth and choices!
I intend to have a wire door to allow good air flow and plenty of light and all unwanted animals out and also they will have the stable doors to cut out all grotty weather. The stable is being lined out too with insulation and gnaw proof material too.

I just want them to have as much space as possible and not be cooped up in hutches when not out on their cuddle and grass times :)
