when i rescued my adult pig, he came with a wooden hidy house, the kind you can find at most pet stores.

i know on chinchilla sites, they say if the wooden house is dirty - it can be sanded.

does this apply to piggys too? i dont want to throw it away, its not extreamly dirty, but it does have stains, how should i clean it? how do you clean yours if you have wooden houses/toys

If you bleach, make sure the water isn't too hot. I tried that once. The glue started melting and seeping out of the joins and the thing basically fell apart. I know baking is pretty common practice but I'm not sure if the same thing would happen, depending on the glue.

Sanding should help with stains. For disinfecting I'd use a bit of diluted Tri-gene or some other pet-safe/veterinary disinfectant, then rinse and sun-dry.

you could always steam clean it too if you have the equipment

sanding would likely be the best way to get shut of the stains though
