Well preparing the hutch while the weather is dry. Not sure how well it will clean up die to moss and fungus being set in
what's the best way to clean it up?
My dad suggested making the bottom of the hutch into a first floor which is a great idea. It helps recycle the hutch and saves me money. But if I can't get it clean then a new hutch it is
any help on where to get a sturdy hutch prefer not ply wood

if it is in the wood dont know if you will get it out completely. I wouldnt risk it, could cause all sorts of breathing problems for the piggies. Someone else may be able to give you reccomendations for a hutch as mine are inside

I have always used Jeyes Fluid (correctly diluted) for cleaning stables, chicken houses and hutches. It does state on the Jeyes Fluid website that its safe for hutches if used correctly and rinsed well. I know lots of people on here wont like the idea though. Its a strong chemical used in farming. Being on a farm, we chuck it around everywhere and almost bathe in it ;) I think it kills foot and mouth etc. No problems so far with my animals. But I would rinse well.
It kills parasites, fungal infections etc. In the stables we scrub everything out with it if a horse has ring worm, or pin worms etc.

However I know lots of people dont approve of using Jeyes for hutches. You could google it and make your mind up with the information that you have. F10 is considered a safer disinfectant.

If I have not had Jeyes to hand I have used correctly diluted bleach (and rinsed well of course).

There is a thread called stAte of my hutch just come on with recommendations for cleaning hitches and they say Hayes is fine, worth a look
