Hi
Wondered if anyone can help me out.
I've acquired a spare hutch today with an almost all plastic top however the plastic is quite dirty and has yellowy marks on the top. I've given it a good scrub but the marks don't seem to be shifting.

Does anyone else have this problem? How do you get it to come up all shiny and clear?

Thanks

Personally I don't use the plastic top cages for piggies but I have had experience of plastics for hammys in the past, I don't like them as I find they get scratched and the stains are nigh on impossible to shift, sorry I can't be of more help, they just generally look dirty after a while x

use one of them scrubby brushes with a mix of vinegar and water should do the trick :)

Also bicarbonate of soda in water mixed into a paste often works, my mums a cleaner so i have a few little tricks for dirty marks as she doesn't like using many chemicals and uses stuff like vinegar all the time :)

If you use a plastic topped tank style cage for piggies it will need to be kept very clean (more so than normal) as i believe the amonia build up really isnt good for them.

Sorry i cant help with the cleaning.

Agreed with Connie, the circulation in them cages is really bad as there isn't very much air flow :)

It's only a short term stop gap for them so hopefully it will be okay. I'll try the bleach solution on it and hopefully that will clean it up :)
