So iv noticed the past few days that baby's cage is getting really dirty really fast .. But I read online your only suppose to clean there house once a week ... I always try and wait but the Stink is too much Should I clean it more then once a week ? Should I stop feeding him so much ? I'm so lost ans could use some guidance please and thank you ;)

Like said above it does depend on bedding. But also depends on size of your cage? bigger cages won't seem so dirty so quickly where as smaller cages will need much more regular cleaning as there is less space for all the faeces and urine to be distributed!

You can't clean a piggy out too much as such, but if you were changing it every hour then maybe i'd say thats a little excessive ;) I clean my piggies every 3 days.

you can clean it as much as you want and feel is necessary. i change alot of blankets everyday and the base layer twice a week, and with a proper cleaner once a week :)

I have mine on vet bed and towels. I change it all every three days. Do not worry about keeping to once a week. You can clean it as much as you like.

I use care fresh Confetti n I change it every saterday but I feel like as soon as I change it the sooner it gets messy lol Should I change it more ofton?

Can you explan what that is please?

just scoop the very wet areas and replace with fresh bedding, and poop scoop! :)) just any very heavily pooped in areas, remove and replace bedding. this might help and mean you can stick to your once a week full clean :)

Okay I'll have to give that a try thank you for your help he means the world to me n I'm just trying to keep him happy n heathy and around for a long time :yahoo::luv:XD

Different beddings will have different absorbency and also if the cage is smaller it will need cleaning more, what size is your cage for how many pigs?

I have only had piggies a little over 2 months and I'm using fleece for their bedding. I had a hand held brush sweeper lying in a drawer that I purchased a few years ago at a resale shop for about 50 cents . It is AMAZING at picking up poo on fleece and it picks up pieces of bedding that gets knocked out of the boys "kitchen" and small pieces of hay. It is so good and I use it so much that I became worried that I might not find another one like it if it was to break. I was relieved to find one like it on Amazon (below). They have several different ones. I just typed in "hand held brush sweeper" in the search bar.

I was using a small brush and dust pan but now I only use them in corners. Just wanted to pass along this great gadget I found. Now if the poo has gotten wet, it's not as great! Sort of sticks to the brush. YUCK! otherwise it really is utterly fantastic at spot cleaning fleece, it's silent and my piggies love chasing my hand around when I'm brushing their fleece!:yahoo: You just move it from side to side, take off the lid to empty it and you can wash it!
