Hello,

I've just bought a second hand indoor ferplast cage, it's come with white patches in the corners and was wondering if any members have any good tips for products to get it clean? I'm sure I saw Kim and Aggie cleaning one once and can't for the life of me remember what they used.

It's only really for use after bathtimes and for any emergency's that could crop up, but I still want it as clean as poss as it's been used for girlies and i only have boys and don't want to upset them if at all poss.

Any thoughts are gratefully received.:))

I just use pet disifectant(pet saftey) and a scourer and scrub & scrub lol..

LOL Mm I've not touched it yet, planning to have a go at it tommorrow, when I don't have visitors, it's actually quite bad when I've had a good look at it, I think Kim and Aggie used something like White vinegar and bicarb and soaked it for a few mins and it came up like new, which would be a heck of a lot easier than scrubbing.

Oh well might try it and then if it doesn't work I'll get the nail brush out. Thanks for the reply.

i had same problem.. took me ages!
the best things was a scrubbing brush (the type you would use for the floor) as the scourers kept falling apart..
I used vinegar to soak it overnight, then disinfectant and washing up liquid to scrub..
I did this over 4 days..
It still has small patches but its way better x

hi,

theres a post started on 2/7 by lowell that discusses this -the consensus seemed to be white vinegar!

Tesco smart price ordinary vinegar. 19p a bottle. Chuck it in neat, wait about 3 hours, and hey presto, all clean. No scrubbing, just rinse well cos it stinks. I do mine in the garden then rinse with hose pipe. xx

Thanks to all who've replied, looks like it's Tesco in the morning then. I really need it in service because at the moment it's acting as a bed for Baby Born. She's looking really cosy though.
