Can anyone advise me on the best thing to clean correx?
The main area I am having a problem with is the base of Max'scorrex ladder. I think he must sit there with his bum perched on the base of the ladder. I spot clean at least once daily and the base of his ladder is usually soaked with urine and is getting quite badly stained.
Am I right in thinking that a dilute solution of vinegar will help? If so - how dilute?

The staining is due to a form of lime scale from the calcium flushed out with the wee. It can be removed with neat vinegar, white vinegar is said to be the best but I've use malt vinegar with good results. Place a pad made of folded kitchen roll soaked in vinegar on the stained area and leave for a while.
Cillit Bang is also very good, the one for limescale is the one I use, lLeave the liquid to soak for a few minutes and wipe off.
Make sure that you rinse/wipe the area several times afterwards to remove any smell as vinegar and Cillit Bang have very potent smells.

The bottom of a ramp is always an important marking place. You could tape a bit of plastic to the correx and change it regularly or place a puppy pad there.

Thank you for both the above answers. I'm new to owning guinea pigs and didn't realise he was doing this to mark his spot. I think I'll get some white vinegar when I next go shopping.
