Hi guys,
Our last piggy (of 8), Honey, is 7.5 yrs old.
She has a tumour btwn her anus and hind leg. Been to vet. Not risking op unless she becomes distressed then it's worth a try. She is otherwise bright, happy and feeding/pooping/moving well.
Problem is keeping her bum clean, which vet said is age related not tumour. Stiffness in ageing spine can cause poor self cleaning. I dunk her rear end in sink every morning, and she's wiped at night, but it is very sticky and hard to clean above her anus around gland area. It gets almost glued down. Any suggestions of something to use other than her Shampoo please? I keep her back end as short as possible. Sorry can't get image of bum end with one hand.

Thank you. Coconut oil is solid at room temp tho, do you have to warm it to melt first?

I used to rub it in my hands first then go in but I am sure you could melt it first, as-long as you ensure it is cool enough when putting it on her skin.

Sorry to hear about her tumor, I hope you have many more happy days together x

Have you tried just water? My long hair boy Finn has always had bum bathes. Finn will also be right up there in age, nearly 7 and I haven't slowed down on his regular bum bathes.

Afraid water does nothing, maybe she gets more mucky than your fella!
