Can anyone advise on the best things to use to give a wooden hutch a thorough clean? My last piggie had an ongoing problem with mites and as I'm now thinking about getting two new piggies I want to ensure the hutch is really clean. Cleaning my indoor plastic cage should be easy, but what can I use on wood?

First I would give it a good spray with Johnsons insecticidal cage spray and leave it to rest for at least a week to get rid of any creepy crawlies. Then I would scrub it all with F10 disinfectant (this is the only one I have found that is active against ringworm spores as well as other microroganisms) rinse and leave until it's thoroughly dry....(hairdryer can help the process in this weather!)

agree with the post above. you could also line the floor with lino so it's easier to wipe clean more often and you're not waiting for it to dry all the time.
