Cleaning a boars penis

Hi! So my boy is now 8 and I have never even thought to clean his willy! It’s now swollen and looking uncomfortable and j was hoping for some advice on how is best to clean it or if I’m best going to the vets?

Hi!

That looks like quite a build up of likely very hard smegma. You need to express the penis further to be able to get at it.
If you struggle, contact your vet clinic and ask whether one of the nurses could clean him up for you before things can get even worse.

Just work it off as gently as possible; if you wish with a tiny bit of oil in your tissue but working off a smegma shell that has hardened it is not the nicest of jobs.
