My OH was talking to me about Christmas pressies last night, and I mentioned that I have already started buying gifts including stuff for him. He admitted that he had no idea what to get me this year, and suggested things for the piggies especially as they have the new C&C cage set up.

I did say that I wanted fleece cosies, cubes, snuggle pouches, etc

I can see a huuuuuuge order going in :)

The problem is, the new 5x2 cage seems rather small with the toys in it...I might need to purchase an extension for it...:)

The C&C's soon fill up don't they :)) ha ha purchase an extension to it, maybe a little summerhouse :)

That was my problem too.
They started in a 5 x 2, and quickly outgrew that.
They are now in an 8 x 2 and if I can get more grids I will add another loft and maybe just one more grid on the bottom.
But after that I am totally stopping.
Really I am.

Yeh, OK Swissgreys :)

I believe you...wink...
Ha!
I am now waiting for your next post in which you also mention how your new C&C has magically expanded. :))

Dh actually commented that if the cage keeps on expanding eventually we will all be sleeping in the tent in the garden, and the house will be totally overtaken by the guinea pigs.
Honestly it is not something that I am ruling out completely...

I am thinking of expanding the cage...and the girlies have only been in it for several hours :)

But I really don't have room to expand it. My bungalow is tiny. And I have a large hamster cage.

I am cleaning the old cage they were in. Il contact Neath rescue tomorrow and find out if they need a cage.

I'd love to expand my cage. Now I'm all puzzled, I've seen cages (C&C) without coroplast:blink:so what's the best way to extend? I mean, ours is 2x4 with coroplast and fitted fleece, so I can't see us expanding:no:

We have a 2x1 loft, but the thing is, we bought the cage with the coroplast tray already score and perfectly sized. Not sure the best way to get hold of some more. Maybe....this may sound dumb, but just open up the ground level so they can walk around on the floor a bit? With grids, of course. No? Yes?:hmm:

Others have done that. They use pads on the floor and grids surrounding the piggies and voila...one larger cage.

Correx can be bought in Wicks, called Antinox but it's only 2mm thick.

I'm looking in to a horse wash bag...but until I get the fleece I don't know what size I will need.

Preferably one that will fit my machine...:hmm:

We actually hand wash, sounds like a huge hassle but surprisingly good at getting stains off, and the result is just as good.
Horse wash bag, eh?
Is there an end to the things we can buy for our piggies?:yikes:I hope not:twist:

Yes, it's not as rigid as the 4mm, but it is the same otherwise.

You could double it up if you were concerned about the thickness, but that could mean double the cost depending on the size you need
