I had mummy rescue pig chirruping her heart out last night but it got me wondering, what does it mean?

Hi Liz,

Twinkle was chirping on Friday just as Cuzzy was going to the bridge. I think its a call to get all the pigs together for whatever reason. It was so beautiful and made me feel quite peaceful. I found it strangely comforting. :)

Liz the sows I have here with minis do that,I think its her way of keeping in contact with the minis and keeping everyone together

That would make sense Graham, I think it is to do with keeping all pigs together or gathering them up for whatever reason!

Do you think it is only dominant pigs that do it? I'm not sure who the boss pig is with Sunshine and Twinkle, they are both scrappy doos at the moment! :)

One of my boys does this, usually at night (all night ::)). It's always when he's trying to mate his brothers and doing the rumbling stuff so I've always assumed he was calling for a mate :'(

My mum had a mummy pig with 3 minis, and the mummy piggie did that chirrup noise when the dog barked, and all the babies went and hid. I think its just how they communicate!
