my Guinea pig pickles has somehow managed to chip his tooth, I don't think he's in pain, as he is still trying his hardest to eat, and he squeaks like mad near enough all the time, he can still eat his veggies if I break them up to be small, I'm not sure what he chipped his tooth on, but I'm near enough 90% sure he did it by chewing on the bars in his cage!
actually me saying he has chipped his tooth is an understatement, it's not chipped, it's basically broken off to just above the gum! any one got any advice for what I should do next? is this something he needs to go to the vets over or will the tooth grow back in its own time?

My fudge did the same thing and I think it was by chewing the bars too, as long as he still has the one next to it he should be fine, and he should still be able to eat properly with just the one, you will actually be very surprised how quickly they grow back it took fudges like 2 weeks to get back to the same length as the one next to it. If your worried you could always weigh him to make sure he's not losing weight but there's not really much the vets can do or say apart from make sure he's still eating X

thankyou, but somehow, in only a way my piggies can, he's actually broken the second one aswell overnight, obviously the one I noticed yesterday is alot worse than the one today, and it's not as short as the other one, he ate all his nuggets last night, and veggies this morning, but the veggies have to be ripped into small chunks for him! the tooth that broke yesterday is at quite a large angle, with it growing back and him chewing on things, will that grind his tooth back down to a normal shape, or do you think a vet would have to file it for him?
thankyou!
