Chip and Bumble

Aww it looked beautiful in the photos on the auction group, but it looks stunning now it has guinea pigs inside it :luv: Lovely photos of the boys enjoying their new des res.

IMG_20221031_134746.jpgIMG_20221031_134623.jpga little update on the boys.
Bumble is 8 months and now a HUGE 1.1kg at the last weigh in! :yikes:
They're still getting on well. Although Chip likes to throw his weight around sometimes and poor Bumble just squeals and runs off. However Bumble likes rumbling (a lot) :doh:which then makes Chip grumpy. But after Chip has chased him away chip popcorns. :xd:Its like he's thinking "still got it Chip, still got it." ha ha. Chip is now about 3 and a half years old. In this pic they're enjoying a lovely gift pillowwad sent along with their hay i ordered.

My gorgeous chip is now 4 years old. He's still keeping Bumble in line though. 😂 And is first in line at feeding time. there's nothing wrong with his hearing either as he can hear the fridge opening from upstairs. 🤣& the wheeking commences. IMG_20230613_141432.jpgIMG_20230613_141408.jpg

The boys are still doing well. Chip is ageing gracefully. Bumble is still a hooligan who loves to rumblestrutt at Chip then popcorns with joy when Chip gives him a telling off. 😆 Bumble is a strange strange boy. Here are the 2 of them enjoying some posh hay. Bumble has since had a haircut, we've discovered he actually tolerates the clippers for a trim instead of the scissors. 🤷🏻‍♀️ My haircutting skills have improved dramatically since the last picture of his trim. 😆IMG_20231120_193507600.webp

After the sad loss of Chip from old age, Bumble is now a Daddy pig (well, of an adopted baby). He was so sad and wasn't moving about much so we decided to get him a friend sooner rather than later. IMG_20240806_145442028_AE.webpIMG_20240806_145518570_AE.webpScreenshot_20240808-143235.webp

Introducing Baby Leo
Leo was adopted from Ayrs Guinea pig rescue. After his mother was surrendered with a litter and pregnant again . There were 4 in the 2nd litter 2 boys (one of whom was Leo) and 2 girls.

I was sorry to just read that lovely Chip went to RB - wasn’t he a gorgeous piggy
He had the best of everything with Bumble and you and your family - all a Guinea pig could ever want
Popcorn freely there lovely Chip
Chip and Bumble were besties so how lovely you were able to get him another friend - lovely little Leo ❤️

What lovely news.
After the sadness of losing Chip it's good to hear that Bumble is happy again with his adopted baby son.
Leo is just so cute:wub:

I am so sorry that you lost gorgeous Chip, sending hugs. Take heart you gave him a wonderful life.

Popcorn high Chip 🌈

Well sadly little Leo was not a good match for Bumble. When Leos hormones kicked in it was very apparent that Bumble was not happy 💔😭. Cue a vets trip for a UTI as Bumble had been constantly hiding under the hay away from Leo. We had to make the heartbreaking decision to return Leo to the rescue and try a different option for Bumble. Because Bumble was dropping weight and not moving about much due to Leo's dominance and Bumble being too soft hearted. I'm not posting the new addition just now incase I tempt fate again. But they've been together since the 6th of November and he's an adult too so I'm hopeful. 🤞🏻 (If I could manage 4 piggies then Leo would have been staying but unfortunately I can't manage 4 at the moment)

Good luck - it’ll be lovely to hear news in the future 🥰

Sorry things didn’t work out with Leo.
Hope Bumble is happier with his new friend
Thanks. It was a hard decision to make but I felt I never had an option. Bumble was becoming more and more withdrawn and Leo was becoming more and more dominant to the point Bumble never moved about the cage much at all. He seems happier now and is popcorning about. I think wee Leo needs an adult that's going to put him in his place. Or neutered and to live with girls. He wasn't aggressive physically to Bumble, more mentally. , 😔
