My husband is going to be making a garden run for our 2 guineas and I've heard that you shouldn't use normal hexagonal chicken wire for guinea pigs as it's not safe. Does anyone know why?

I was thinking of the small stuff where the holes are only a couple of cms, is that ok to use?

if they are going to be supervised at all times then it should be ok, but a fox/dog/cat can get through it so not safe in that way.

If they bite the wire they can get nasty cuts on chicken wire, their fur gets caught in it too and some guineas have hurt their ears. I would really stay away from it and get the welded wire.

Remember weasels are small so they can get through the chicken wire easily :{ .Watch out!
