Chewing with no food in mouth.

Not a clue- sillyness. Ive heard the odd grinding before but Ive always assumed just theyve ran out of hay he he.

They are so funny when they do it, they just sit and look at me, they seem to be more comfortable when they do it lol so I don't know whether it's their happy sign! :) its a sort of munch munch munch noise lol x your right they are silly piggies! x
 
I may be wrong, but guinea pigs store small amounts of food in their mouths so they're still munching after the food's gone if that makes sense! A bit like hammies :))

On a more serious note..............can humans do it with chocolate? please say they can please please......drool
 
Yeah i've heard that piggies can have random hay at the back of there mouth that they just munch on for a little while (:
 
That is something every guinea-pig does, its just where they take so long to chew food properly, especially if its hay, it'll need to be broken down quite a lot in their mouths before swallowing.

hey, I think this is just normal?.....all of mine do it. Not sure what it means though. Probably because they are so used to constantly eating, they eat even when they haven't got anything in their mouths, lol xx
