Chewing on the cage

The cage I have for my boys is wooden with plastic trays (where they run around ) they keep chewing on the wood, I know it’s normal for them to chew on things right? I’m just that sort of person that would prevent the cage getting rewend if i could. Is there any way to stop them chewing the cage? Maybe blocks to chew on? I’m not sure and would rather get other opinions before purchasing anything. If there isn’t anything I can do it’s okay I expected it anyway haha
 
In my experience, getting them something else specifically to chew on won’t necessarily stop them from chewing on things you don’t want them to chew on. The only thing you could do is put some sort of covers over the wood to protect it but there is a possibility the they would also chew such covers so you would have to be careful what you were to use. It depends on your cage shape etc, but could you put their hidey houses around where they normally chew so that they can’t get access to the cage wood?

Unfortunately my cages shape is rectangular so even if I put their hidey length ways they would chew on the other sides. I guess I could look into covers Thankyou for replying! :) wanting to keep the cage tidy doesn’t really mix well with guinea pigs haha
 
No it doesn’t! I bought my boys a new hutch and the following morning, they had successfully revamped the ramp! They seem to have got bored of it though so don’t chew it anymore, it was like they were just experimenting and then gave up.
 
Oh no haha. It’s not completely visible unless you go close to the cage so I won’t worry too much haha
