Hey, I'm getting a new cage in February, right now they have a 120x60cm cage (I know it's small, hence the new cage) and floor time every day (6-8h on the workdays and the whole day on the weekends).
It seems like one of my piggies is bored in their cage, because sometimes when I'm near, he comes and starts chewing on the bars. He doesn't do it when I'm out. I'm afraid he'll break his teeth doing that :(, is there anything I could to until we get our new cage?

@Bitsato I find that bar chewing can be boredom, wanting attention. I find that by changing the set up of the internal of the cage can help and using different toys but not all at once.

I'm already changing up their toys etc. :( What do you think, would more one-on-one lap time help? Like maybe if it's because he wants attention, since he only starts doing it when someone's walking past their room.

Hi there,
It's been a while since I wrote on the forum . One of my boars had a lump removed it was a cyst and it recovering well. Due to the cold weather and having some of his fur shaved off from the op ive had to bring him in at night. He's been knawing at the bars in his cage a lot . He's has things to chew on and ive moved the houses and toys around in his cage but he's still doing it. He's also ripping up the newspaper at the bottom of his run. We handle the boys ( as there are two ) everyday .... I wondering if he needs floor time ? They have a massive run outside which they are in everyday and when it's warmer they stay out there all night . It's all secure and covered up at night. Any pointers as to why he's doing this?
Thanks
