Is it nessecarily bad for pigs when they chew on the c&c bars/grids or ceramic bowls? One boy chews very hard on the bars in anticipation of food. The other likes to take the heavy ceramic food bowl and drag it towards him with his teeth (he also lays his head on the bowl and eats from it laying down which is hilarious). My boy who chews on the bar has had a fractured front tooth removed before and I constantly see the tip of his teeth are chipped.

Oh wow! I'm not entirely sure, but my boys nibble on the bars too. They haven't had any teeth problems. But if they are getting chipped teeth I would assume you should switch your bowl to plastic or another material. Maybe plastic isn't too great, nevermind.

I would try to cover the grids as much as you can with a fleece blanket to minimise the ability to chew them.
I would also stop using bowls altogether and instead scatter feed veg and pellets for them. Not only will this mean he can’t chew the bowl, but scatter feeding food encourages natural foraging and keeps them occupied as they don’t jusf sit and eat their food in one go.
