chewing fur?

this is a bit weird but summer keeps chewing henna's fur! ?/
she keeps sniffing all around Henna and then nibbling, i checked henna over and its been gnawed and chewed especially round her bum and sides. i was cuddling them both and even on my lap Summer was doing it!
Henna doesn't seen that bothered, she'll keep eating and every now and then 'headbutt' summer out the way.
is fur chewing normal?
Henna is 4 and summer about 14 weeks, is it possible she thinks Henna's her mum and is sort of 'feeding' but doing it wrong?
its so weird, i've never seen it before, and henna looks like she's had a really bad haircut :...
summer doesn't do this to drusilla or sadie either? @)

Its called barbering, it is normal to a certian extent, i think they do this as a source of fibre though i may be wrong, hopefully someone else on here will advise. x

in the link it says 'how nicely balanced the hair is on either side'... i just looked and it is pretty even! lol
i've never heard of this behaviour before....i'm completely boggled! :{
but summer is always the first to the hayrack so maybe it is fibre she's after!
have just switched to excel herbage so will see if the behaviour stops with the switch to a better quality hay.....will update you as it might be useful to know
