Hello

No matter how many wood houses, toys, unlimited Hay my GP's have, they have chewed their wooden run bad and now there is one of the screws sticking out. It's a collapsible one, bought for outdoor play, but when I go out for the day I put it up in the front room, so they have more room than their indoor cage. It's also good when I have gone away for the odd weekend, as I put a little wooden house in and they stay in there with lots of room and a family member goes in to feed and check on them.

I wondered if I could buy the mesh cubes you make your c&c cages, and make them up inside around the wooden run so they can't get to chew the wood? are they easy to put up and take down? The wooden run is 116cm x 116cm, could I fit 4 cubes inside that ? I do have a wire run, but it has no lid and as we have a cat the wooden one is best to use when I am out of the house.

Thanks

I don't think you could put four cubes in that, and I think they take quite a long time to put together, but not sure. Maybe you could put some mesh wire over the places where they chew or something?

I have the same problem with my boys' wooden run, they try to chew through to the girls I think! rolleyes But hopefully they won't destroy it completely, they have loads of chew toys and a log cabin, but no . . . the run is better to chew!

thanks.. have managed to get the dimensions of the cubes and would only be able to fit 3x3 cubes inside, but it would make it safer for them and make the run last a bit longer! Depends now how easy they are to fit together!

I would love to make a large c&c cage, but the room it would be in I can't keep our cat out of it as it's open dinning room kitchen and the cat flap on the kitchen door. At the min, I wheel the ferplast cage into the living room at night :))

I've seen pics of some c&c with a lid on, does anyone else have a cat and those sort of cages in the same room?

The C&C cages with lids are meant to be safe with cats and small or well behaved dogs anyway.

For the c&c grids inside the run, if you put them together with cable ties then maybe you'd be able to just kinda fold it up when not using it, instead of taking it apart. Also you can overlap some of the grids to make it a bit small to be the same size as the run, I forgot about that.
