Hey guys just wondering what would be the cheapest way to make one. :)

You can buy the grids from amazon or eBay (make sure they are 9 square grids, not 8 squares). To make it even cheaper, then an alternative to correx could be found. I bought plastic sheeting off the roll From a garden centre to put on the (shed) floor.

This is our cage size guide to ensure you get the right number of grids Cage Size Guide

Wont how many panels I should get? I have two piggies and I made their cage bout 3ft×4ft but its wooden and it was used so it's now beginning to smell and since it's in my closet I'd like to have some with more airflow too:)

It depends what size cage you are looking to make it. Each grid usually measures approx 35cm. You will notice a discrepancy in the maths between the grid size and the total size when the cage is made up and that is due to using the proper connectors to connect the grids together. The alternative is to cable tie the grids together and not use connectors.

A 2x4 c&c cage (which measures approx 150cm x 77cm or 5ft by just over 2 ft) needs 12 grids (four down each side and two on each end). That is big enough for two females.

A cage of 3 grids x 4 grids would measure approx 150cm x 112cm. That would require 14 grids

You can overlap grids though to make it fit into the required space provided the cage ends up with no less total floor space than the equivalent of a 2 grid x 4 grid cage.

Oh, I’ve just remembered you have cats. You can make lids for a c&c cage by overlapping grids (to keep it rigid) and tying them with cable ties to hold the grids together but to also act as hinges on the back row.
To make a lid for a 2x4 c&c, it would require (doing it the way I describe), an additional 12 grids. You would also likely need some support bars to go from the front to back of the cage to support the lid when it is closed
