Chattering For No Reason?

Hello,

I've had piggies for almost 4 years now. I understand that chattering teeth means that they're upset or angry.

However, I've had one of my pigs out on the sofa with me today. He's fine. Eating, relaxing and exploring. Then he will settle down and relax, and just chatter away! I'm no where near him or touching him yet he still chatters his teeth. No idea why... Is there something I'm missing?
 
That's what I was thinking! I went out and got him some new forage with dandelion and that was the thanks I got! Charming! :-)
 
Some of mine chatter when on my lap too, especially if they need a wee.
 
It's odd. He seems to be happy going for a wee wherever haha! Maybe I just have a grumpy pig!
 
Mine chatter when I'm about to dish out food - maybe it's like the piggy equivalent to banging your knife and fork on the table before service!

Mine do this as well if they know they're about to get food, seems to be a sign of them hardly being able to contain themselves. It also doesn't seem as loud as if they're chattering their teeth aggressively.
 
Rambo and Patch chatter... I think they do... Rambo chatters at anything and Patch is the same. I do notice however that they do grind their teeth together quite often as well... And Rambo as well she makes the 'mipmipmip' sound all the time when she's walking and being nosey
 
well mine do it when I'm stroking one of them and not all of them partly because i dont have three hands and then they stop as i soon get round to all of them ! :) and even then they chatter for more !
 
I was late down this morning and went to give them strokes before I prepped their breakfast. Barney stood lovely and still while I got my fur fix, toby got cross at my tardiness and just chattered at me! He does it during cuddle time as well because he knows he will get carrot but it doesn't come fast enough!
 
Oreo and Twig chatter their teeth in unison when the veggies aren't arriving quickly enough. Think they're saying,' Stop the cooing and cuddling and just give us the veggies!'

Haha! Maybe that's what he was trying to tell me then! I just couldn't understand why he was being a moody pants!
