Took me two days but I've finally got the new hutch painted and built.
It is a good hutch for what I need as I can't have anything too heavy due to needing to move it between patio and shed. Think it's about 45 kg which is less than the really well built ones.
I need to find some sort of furniture castors to somehow put on the legs for moving it(removable ones so could be hard to find.)
I have modified the hutch a fair bit as the floors and ceiling are thin plywood with no supports other than the frame, I added further lengths of wood to strengthen it. The back is the same thin ply so I reinforced this and will be putting insulation and a second ply board over this. The doors are also only stapled together so I have put nails or screws in where possible. I know it's a fairly cheap hutch but would have expected more solid doors. I have also added further staples to the mesh as it could easily be pushed inwards by a dog or fox as it was. Oh and the ramp isn't suitable for Guineas due to being ply with spaced out grips, solved easily by putting carpet on the whole ramp. I like the fact it comes with sides for the ramp.
Overall a good hutch for the price but would recommend modifying if you want it to last outdoors. image.webp image.webp Once the weather warms up (in a couple of months) the piggies can try it out!
