This might be a silly question but:

My boys have a house with a run attached and I've given then lots of tunnells/hidey places/toys/chews etc.

What i'm wondering is should I change things around quite often or hardly ever?

Is it ok to chage where the hidey places are? To change the things in with them? To change where the food/water is?

I've made tunnells out of boxes and given then boxes to play in etc and I thought change is good - keeps it interesting but then I thought they might get upset by changes?

mallethead I really think about things a lot, want to get this right!

I would leave things in the same place at first until they are comfy with their new surroundings. After that you can change up and put new things in to explore (a saucer in which you swirled a bit of fruit juice, a toilet roll stuffed with hay, an old towel, ahurdle made with a ruler...)

when all mine are outside in the run i change things around each time so it makes it diffrent each time there go out and so there all got to use each one aswell

i'd recommend lots of different boxes for them to explore =]
guinea pigs love hiding, so maybe get create with different ways you could make them nests and hidey-holes. i've always found my pigs get really excited when i introduce a new toy, so once they're used to their hutch and are confident wandering around it you can really go mad!

As Vickyt said, while they're still new let them settle for a while. When they are generally braver and happier to explore their surrounding, start by just shifting one or two things at a time.

I change things in my pigs cages twice a week. They have their hay and water area which doesn't change, but I do move the pellet dishes according to what toys/hideys I have put in at that cleanout.
