I think the last time i posted the cage was a 8x2 with a 2x2 loft. Since then the amount of pigs and the piggy dynamics have changed and changes needed making to the layout.

First thing to go was the loft. It was too big to clean under. Next the cage was extended the full width of my living room which means it is now 9.5 grids by 2. This was then divided into 2 cages, one 5x2 and one 4.5 x2. I then added a small loft area but halfway up the grids so it didn't alter the overall height. The loft is just 1 grid and each cage has one.

Because I need a roof I had to add a bit of support to each area and so fixed a grid to help support the roof but only on the back half so the fron of each cage still has the full length to do zoomies.

On the left side is Edna and Eileen. The right is empty (well, being used to store my home made stuff) until Eva and her babies can go in there (when they are a bit bigger). Actually, Eva will go in the right side as it's half a grid bigger and Edna and Eileen will move to the left. All the bedding will be matching and it should look great but for now, here it is (the roof is up for better pics)

ahhh i love looking for your cage posts! :luv:

This is what i want my cage to look like when all the bits arrive!

Where did you get the little wooden ladders from for the ramp?

Only five mins ago you had 3 guinea pigs and a shop bought cage. Now look at you. Such an amazing swift adaptation what with new babies and cage expansions not to mention sewing machine magic.

Your set up looks just great. It will be fab when they are all in residence. Well done. Gold stars!

Tell me about it! I feel like I haven't stopped for breath since getting the original 3. I'm happy with the cage now. I still wish it was for all of them but even with them split, it's better than a small commercial cage.

Hopefully I can relax soon and start to enjoy the piggies even more :lol!:

Wonderful - I adore the little 'mini lofts'.
Can I ask about the base of the lofts - is it correx or some otehr magical solution (I m hoping for the latter!).

It all looks great and you have utilised the space really well.
It has actually given me an idea for making more space in my cages, which I also wish were one big cage!

Just correx I'm afraid. I did cheat a bit. I had none left from my huge sheet so I got some A3 sizes off ebay and used 2 bits per loft. They fit in nice and snug and don't slide out which I was worried might be a problem. It's 4mm so very sturdy.
