I'm just curious since I've never heard it before: but has anyone else found that, if you ask your pigs to do something for a treat (say, at veggie time you request that they take their veggies from your hand) they will grump and start chattering their teeth at you?

Yes, Llewelyn does this sometimes when he doesn't like going in the upturned pigloo to be carried outside to the run. But in he goes nevertheless, even without me prodding! He REALLY doesn't like being picked up, so that's my way of working around it.

Many a time I reach into the cage - even only to clean it out - only to be chattered at, told in no uncertain terms to bog off and leave them alone!

I only have one that chatters at me but she hates being disturbed. She stops as soon as she is picked up though. I have one biter too, she just hates to be picked up. She will happily be stroked and handled if veggies are involved though :)

Indie sometimes chatters when my girls are in the run and I offer food through the bars. I think it's a sort of..."I'm coming to get the food now...stay where you are, don't move, and keep the carrot where I can see it." :))
