hi people

well i dont think my second level on my cc cage is getting used to what it should be. Iv put a hay tray up there which they rarely go up to. I tried removing the hay tray downstairs so they went upstairs, which they did but seemed to fight more over the hay tray upstairs. resulting in one piggy using it at a time. as soon as i put the hay tray downstairs they are both sat in it fine no problems. I'm wondering if they just dont like the second level.

I'm thinking of removing the top level altogether and attaching it onto the bottom to have like a kitchen area were i can put all the hay and food in so it doesnt get over the fleece and i know they will use it if its on the floor. Dont get me wrong they do use the second level but not very much.

the cc cage will probably look a bit like an L shape, has anyone ever done this?

I've stopped putting a litter tray upstairs too as they seem to share better downstairs. I have hayrack upstairs now and a cozy and they seem to use it better.

I think it's a great idea to make it all one level if you have floor space. An L shape will be fine. :)

ye isnt it funny how they dont really use the top level and seem to not share very well. i wonder what the reason is... I'm doing the transistion tomorrow night... woohooo xx

I have seen at least one L-shaped cage; the good thing about C&C is that you are free to adjust a cage to your own needs.

My mezzanine floor has been turned into a dormitory with a couple of these bendy wooden squares and an old beach towel over it all. In view of the amount of poos I pick up in the morning it is a favourite place for snugglers!

hi people well iv done the L shape. its much better, however i havent blocked the L bit off so they are still trampling hay all over the place hahahah. grrrrrrrr i dunno how to block it off, i like the entrance exits idea but not sure how to do it iv put two hay trays in the hay area, they are still both fighting over one lol. xx
