Just out of curiosity: has anybody had any success with teaching guinea-pigs to use a catflap? This may sound crazy, but bunnies can be taught to use a catflap, and so I was wondering if squeakers were the same? You'd probably have to put ramps up to the opening, or something.

Would it not be dangerous for them to go outside when they are not in a run which is protected, since they are prey animals? Mine can use a Ramp to go out the door of there but I would imagine you would have to have it open for them all the time, they wouldn't be able to lift the flap!

My concern is that they may be too small/weak to use a catflap and the danger of them getting stuck is probably higher.

Most of the guinea pigs should be able to use one, if you train them carefully.
