Sorry not a guinea pig, but come on hes a lovely lad. Rescued him and his bro from pets at home adoption section. They were in there for months and one day i said sod it I'm going to home them. He was very aggressive when i got him, he bit me hard alot of times, even hanging off my finger. He had a problem with protecting his food bowl. But thankfully he has grown out of it and is very friendly now

He's a stunning boy. I really love my three gerbils- they're great fun to watch :D
Yea they are, they know exactly what they are doing when tunnelling, they will use wooden sticks and objects to prop tunnels up. They make escape routes aswell.

Aw I love gerbils. I have 3 brothers called Rodney, Albert and Derek. Rodney is white with pink eyes :D
i call them the toyota of the animal world. They seem to never go wrong, health wise .same as my toyota yaris lol

I've always avoided Gerbils because people say they are so quick you can't get hold of them
Yea they are quick. Especially when young. But they do calm down alot. I wouldnt reccomend them for kids. But i like how they are diurnal and really really clean. They drink very little and dont wee much.

Arnold Swarzenegger likes to ride around on my shoulder, he's the most tame and will willingly climb into my hand if I stick it in their cage. Unlike my previous hamsters, the gerbils seem to have much better depth perception and don't launch themselves into the void.
At the moment they're in a temporary cage in the spare room and all I hear all night through the bedroom wall is the sound of that blasted wheel!

When I had hamsters and squeaky wheels I took the wheel apart, smothered the spindle in vaseline put the wheel back together, no more noisy wheels and I could sleep in peace!

get youself down pets at home. My gerbils have a wheel with a bearing. Its totally silent and has no gaps in it for broken legs and tail injuries. Its the one in the picture £10 i think. Its only when they poo in it, it rattles lol

It's only the temporary wheel. They have a large enclosed one in their usual cabinet- that one had to be silent as it's in the living room. The spare one would actually drive me insane otherwise!

O i see. Sorry, when i stayed round my wifes parents house at xmas we took the gerbils with us. Her dad thought his boiler had broke because of the wheel noise.

Are you on the gerbil forum? I was but forgot my password

Gerbils are a recent addition to my life- I've not got as far as exploring the Internet world of gerbils yet!

Cool. Ive had them for about 7 years. Ive had one live over 5 years old. If you ever have any trouble with them, just message me. I have learnt quite a bit about them. Have you got a sandbath for them?

Sandbath, tunnels, wheel, things to chew and more cardboard to shred than I can throw at them!

Stunner! I adore gerbils, never had one though, they look so full of character

I was on the gerbil forum a few years ago but like you, I lost my password quite a long time ago now

They are lovely! I've kept gerbils since I was a tot and love them, never been without. Currently have an old pair, Jazz and Kofi :D

I didnt realise casper would be so popular here lol. Little does he know that he is famous

Awww they are adorable. I have never seen them over here or I'd have me some for sure.

I love gerbils, had a few pairs over the years - Katie and Binky, Denzel and Toby, Peroni and Mythos, Wesley and Rupert. They are so easy to care for and fascinating to watch, but when our last boy died before Christmas we decided to go for piggies so my kids can handle them. I was almost tempted by gerbils in the pets at home adoption section recently (still have cage etc in the garage) but when I went back a couple of days later they had gone. Probably just as well, I have enough on my plate

My first pets we had living on our own. We rescued these gerbils from my wifes school she works at. I cant say too much on here, but they ended up living out a happy long life. Infact nutboy on the right lived to 5. Fudge on left about 4 ish. He got a scent gland tumour and didnt make it. I was kicking myself a bit, because in an old photo of him, you can clearly see it starting. But these things happen
