Would you say these are a good mix?
We’ve finally got all of Peanut’s incisors fully intact and in line with each other, but because he has dental disease they can fall out really easily. He’s fine with toilet roll tubes. Chewing on a willow stick made one of his teeth snap off a few months back so those were quickly removed.
I know the boys would love a carrot cottage, but I don’t want to risk Peanut’s health over it - especially because to see Simon is a 3 hours drive, one where Peanut does not move and will sit in his urine and not eat/drink the whole 7 hours we’re out.
I had first thought a carrot cottage was made from cardboard but think it’s actually a parchment board or something like that? Would that be too hard for his fragile teeth? Or are they getting another Christmas present?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, It is made from parchment board. They are pretty rigid, won’t bend like cardboard. My piggies certainly put quite a bit of effort into chewing on one.

I got Bill and Ted a carrot cottage and they can’t handle it. Bill who has problem incisors like Peanut has tried but Ted has no interest in chewing it, he obviously knows his limitations x
This is a p@H cottage, it’s very rigid, I prefer to buy different hays to try and encourage them to eat more hay. Bill’s really good with his hay eating but Ted has a long way to go. Can’t be easy when you have sores and ulcers.

Thank you, I won’t bother then! I don’t want him to hurt himself. Bless your boys, it must be so difficult on both them and you. I’m just thankful that Peanut’s back teeth could be sorted easily and that his incisors have got themselves sorted. It can be so mentally taxing that’s for sure, always worrying if they’re eating right, if their teeth have snapped off or overgrown, if they’re in pain, etc. Especially with Simon being so far away too!

Yes, it’s a worry for anyone with dental or poorly piggies If you are so far away from a vet you can trust. I have become quite an old hand now looking after them, Bill’s teeth are pretty straight forward I can see what’s wrong but Ted is a worry at times, although they both have a keen zest for life, enjoy their food and are pretty pampered so it’s just a journey we have to take and they seem to know that x
