I bought the piggies a new carrot cottage last night from amazon prime and a new hay cube because they'd had their carrot cottage for around 6 weeks and I thought it was getting a bit tatty.

I've just gone to open it and it was completely covered in maggots all over the top - please take this as a warning if you purchase one from Amazon! It's not the first time I've purchased a cottage from Amazon and never had this problem before

I've got a video, but put the cottage straight in the dustbin and will be phoning Amazon shortly!

Yuck yuck yuck :vom:
I’m guessing a fly got in and laid it’s eggs during production. Grim :ban:

Someone else posted about the same thing not so long ago. Yuck!

It was soo grim! Amazon told me to send it back?!?! I refused to send it to the poor people at the post office but they agreed to send a courier to come and collect it - I feel awful knowing there are maggots in the bag!

It’s not been a good week I ran out of farm shop hay so the piggies had to have pets at home hay and it was sooo fine and dusty I had to run to tesco and get emergency hay

That is not pleasant.:vom::vom: I have always got my carrot cottages from Wilko online and they have always been fine. I agree the P@H hay is not good:no:. I'm lucky enough to have a farm within 40 minutes of my house and I get 2 big farm bales at a fiver each every 3 months for my lot. This years hay smells like honey and my piggies love it!

Oh, that is gross. Poor you opening that and finding those. Would expect better from amazon. I mean did someone not see them when picking the product from the depot.

I would send pics to Amazon and tell them its a health hazard to send it back through the post.
