So my boys have to be year-round outdoor piggies because certain members of my family have severe asthma. Will they be okay to go in the garage in just their carrier for the whole night so that they're out of the severe cold? They'll have a snuggle safe, hay, water and food. I'm just wondering if they'll be stressed at being moved and in a small space for so long...

Update: I brought them in and will be checking on them whenever I wake up. Gave them a corn cob to keep them occupied :)) xx

Sorry your post got missed :( How are your piggies doing?

I'm sure your piggies will be fine.you are doing all you can to keep them warm.i put a small carrier in my hutch, stuff with hay and a cardboard box to give them a choice of places to go.mine all seem to like there wooden house ,all five curl up together, despite 4 snugglesafe heat pads, they seem to prefere the cardboard and hay !i do give them slightly more root vegetables in the winter,as they burn more energy.my ones that are in the house i just give them there normal staples of spring greens ,cucumber, peppers, green beans, broccoli ,occasional gem lettuce, and parsley .hope your piggies are warm.the weather is meant to be getting slightly warmer after wednesday.i do keep observation on the weather forecast,so i can plan ahead:hug:

Thank you everyone, they are fine. I think they just slept through the night and I returned them to their hutch in the afternoon when it had warmed up a bit so that the temperature change wasn't too much.
However, Ringo went a bit crazy when he got back in the hutch and scared the life out of me by jumping over the divide in the top half and falling down the ramp! I was so worried that he was hurt! I picked him up and checked him over and he was the same as always, as soon as I put him back down he was running again so luckily he must have landed in a way that didn't hurt him. I kept checking on him all day, I've been so worried, but he's just the same as always and he ate all his veggies so I think he was just very, very lucky.
I will give them more root veg and maybe get a bigger carrier/crate for when they need to come inside. They get oats on their dry food when it's cold and they love them. Xx
