Lacey has started to chew the carpet, well I say chew, she tugs at it all the time, Mr Darcy has now started to copy her thinking it must be food, I dont understand why..... they have plenty to 'chew on' so why my carpet?

Guinea pigs will chew anything! They do not care if they have lots of other things. I would be careful though as it could be dangerous for her to get bits of it stuck inside her stomach.

She doesnt get the chance to actually swallow any because I normally clap my hands at her and she stops straight away, lil !

i had to replace the spare bedroom carpet as the piggies had chewed a hole in it. now thats covered with lino, they made one in the living room, currently covered by a fish tank! so they have started on the edge of the hall carpet. there is obviously something that appeals to them. i now cover the hall one with newspaper.

so now they have taken to nibbling on the clean clothes on the airer and if they can pull my underwear down to lay on! i think piggies have a fabric obbsession

piggies eat anything :) mine show no ill effects from eating the carpet but i do try to stop them.

I rent so cant change to floors however I think rather than let them have free run of the flat for floor time I will get a large pen and lay something down on that :))

my piggies do that too - how i stopped them doing it was during floortime I put a massive towel down - that stopped them LOLOLOL

My piggies wee on newspaper in corner then run around the carpet so it works out somehow inbreeding

getting lino or wood flooring a good idea.

Or use tarpawlin on carpet cos it waterproof :)) they may like the noise too of their little feet pitter pattering as they run around

I put down 2 large double duvet covers then newspaper in one corner where they usually wee- this works out well - if you put another duvet cover on top of the first one they love to bury under it and scoot around underneath - they look like moles running about lol:))
