Does anyone use this and is there anywhere that sells it cheap.

Or is there a similar product? For those that aren't familiar with it, it seems to be like shreadded cardboard.

Thanks

I use it for mine in their litter tray (optimistically they don't do everything in it lol) it works okay, wouldn't say it absorbs every smell, but is better than wet newspaper rolleyes

Cheapest I think is here if you buy it in big packs:

Still pretty expensive if you use it in the whole hutch though. What about soft chop straw? That was pretty good & I found it didn't smell much :)

I use carefresh for all my pets. I get it in pets at home, we get a big bag for about £20!

Ive heard of megazorb which ive been told is better. You can order it online. The bags are massive tho. Amazon sells them.

We use shredded paper with out carefresh, makes the bag last longer and our piggies love the paper for some reason :{ lol

I use care fresh for all our boys. It is a little exepensive but it keeps everyone clean and dry.

I wouldn't change now. A pity you can't get it on weekly subscription!

Hi

I have used carefresh bedding and it is good but I could only get hold of it in tiny bags and it was very expensive.

I now use ecopet bed which I get from my local pet store. I get a huge bale for about £6 (I can barely lift it!) and it is little squares of thick cardboard.

I love it, it is really absorbant, has no dust and is really easy to clean up. I just pick up everything out my piggies hutch and pop it in the recycling bin - Easy!

My piggies seem to like it too and love trying to bury underneath it!

I have used megazorb and found it to be very messy but its a personal preference - really didn't like it

Megazorb is nothing like carefresh just to warn you - its more dusty and works on the basis that it swells when wet, so is not a big, fluffy bed like carefresh or similar would be.

I have been through most of the paper and card based beddings and the best value and quality is recycled egg box bedding, google it and you should find some, down here its £5.60 for a compresed bale that fills up 100 sq foot worth of hutch space!

Doeylicious

You are totally right - couldn't get on with megazorb at all. Sometimes I get ecopet bed sometimes its something similar, depends what the store has in stock.

I am very lucky they stock bedding for horses, chickens, any pet you can think off, all in bales that weigh a ton for around £5.50

Hurrah!

OH not happy when I bought home a bale of hay in the back of the freshly cleaned car. It lasted months so I don't know what he was moaning about :))

I didn't like Megazorb either, I sold the bag to my friend in the end for her horse.

I have a hay bag thingy to protect my car a bit, I never used to use it but I feel as it is getting on a bit now it could use the TLC. Plus every time I give my sister a lift she ends up sneezing all over the car otherwise (hay allergy!)

I really don't know why more guinea and rabbit owners don't go to their local tack shop/horse supplies shop. The savings are incredible, even if you are on shavings you can get a giant compressed bale for around £6 - £7, so much better value than P@H!
